👉 Cholera is a disease caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae, which can be transmitted through contaminated water or food. It can lead to severe dehydration and death in people who contract it, particularly those who are young, weak, or have compromised immune systems. Symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fever, and sometimes cramps that occur after stools become hard and may appear white or green.
