Definition: Newcastle-apo is a term from Hebrew used to describe the city of Samaria during the time of Jesus Christ, as it was not properly named at that time. The term itself translates to "city of God," referring specifically to the city of Jerusalem (Isaiah 26:17). The Bible uses it metaphorically throughout its book of Hebrews where it is used as a symbol of the true city which is Israel, as opposed to the false city which was Babylon.
