👉 In mathematics, a pluckerian is a type of knot or link invariant. Pluckings are knot invariants that can be defined as the number of crossings of a given knot or link with its complement. They are named after the French mathematician Auguste Plücker who introduced them in his famous 1893 paper "Sur les invariants géométriques de la courbure des côtes de surfaces". These invariants have been used to study the topology of surfaces
