👉 XPS refers to a type of plastic used in computer hardware, particularly in optical systems. It was first introduced by Philips in 1997 as an upgrade from its traditional PETG (Polystyrene Thermoplastic) packaging. XPS is made from a thermoplastic polymer consisting of two monomers: polypropylene and methacrylate.
