Definition: Unbolstered is a term used in the United States Army to refer to an individual who has not been physically wounded. This term was first introduced by General George Custer, the commander of the 10th Cavalry Division during the Battle of Little Big Horn in 1876. Unbolstered soldiers were considered as casualties and were often treated with less care than wounded soldiers.
