Definition: The term "suprasternal" is used in anatomy and physiology to describe a region of the inner ear, also known as the meninges. It's located between the two external auditory meatuses (the outer ear) and the middle ear, where the eardrum meets the inner ear. In this region, there are three main structures: the vestibular organ, which is responsible for hearing; the cochlea, which contains sensory neurons that respond to sound waves; and the labyrinth
