Definition: A saltometer is a device used to measure the concentration of salt in a fluid. It consists of a tube with a small hole at one end, and a stopcock at the other end. The liquid or gas that enters the tube is allowed to flow through the stopcock, while the salt in the tube is allowed to pass out of it.
