Definition: Isocrotonic, also known as isocrotonic acid, is a type of amine that has an isoelectric point (a pH value at which its hydrolysis produces 1 mol of H2O per mole of NaOH) and a pKa (pH of the pKa in aqueous solution). Isocrotonic acids are used as a buffer agent to neutralize acids or bases, as they have a buffering capacity.
