👉 Hexabiblos are a type of abacus used in ancient Mesopotamia. They consist of 10 rows and each row contains 9 numbers, with one number in each place value (from left to right). The 10 rows represent the ten digits of the decimal system. Hexabiblos were used as an aid for calculation by using them as a tool for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and other arithmetic operations.
