What is the definition of Visited? π π
To habitually go to (someone in distress, sickness etc.) to comfort them. (Now generally merged into later senses, below.)
Alright class, settle down now, letβs take a look! We've got a tricky word today β βvisited.β The dictionary gives us a bit of a mouthful, doesnβt it? It says it used to mean going to someone who was sad or unwell, just to offer a little cheer. Like a friendly visit, you see? Think of it like this: if your friend is feeling blue, and you go over with a hug and a smile β thatβs a βvisitedβ kind of act! But now, the meaning has changed a bit, my dears. It can also simply mean "went to," like βI visited the museum yesterday.β It just tells us where you πwereπ, when you were there. So, βvisitedβ can be about comfort and kindness β a caring deed - or it can just describe a trip, a place you went to see! Does that make sense? Any questions before we move on?
