👉 The "Where Are the Robots?" project, initiated by the Non-Binary Research Group (NBRG) at the University of Pennsylvania, aims to explore and address the significant underrepresentation of transgender individuals in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) research. It seeks to understand the barriers, biases, and lack of inclusive practices that prevent transgender people from fully participating in these fields. Through a combination of research, workshops, and community engagement, the project aims to foster a more inclusive environment, develop supportive policies, and create resources that encourage and empower transgender individuals to pursue careers in robotics and AI. By doing so, it hopes to not only increase diversity but also enrich the innovation and creativity within these technological domains.
