👉 Colles' fracture is a common cause of shoulder dislocation. It occurs when the bone that joins two bones in the shoulder joint, the humerus and radius, separates from the bony head of the second rib. The distal end of the humerus, which is the bone on the outside of the upper arm, is broken off by the rotator cuff muscles around it. This causes the shoulder to displace, often causing pain or discomfort.
