👉 The Brands missiles, also known as the Brands-1, Brands-2, and Brands-3 variants, are a family of air-to-air missiles developed by Brands Electronics Limited (BEL) in India. Initially introduced as the Brands-1 in 1993, these missiles were designed for the Indian Air Force (IAF) and feature a unique design that sets them apart from other air-to-air missiles. The Brands-1 uses a single-stage, solid-fuel rocket propelled by a composite propellant, offering a range of approximately 800 km and a maximum speed of Mach 2.5. Subsequent variants, Brands-2 and Brands-3, introduced improvements such as a liquid-fueled engine, enhancing their range to around 2,400 km and speed up to Mach 3, respectively. These missiles are known for their high maneuverability and accuracy, making them effective against a variety of aerial threats. The Brands missile family has been widely adopted by India's IAF and has also seen export opportunities to countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal.
