👉 In obstetrics and gynaecology, a transplacental is a part of the uterus that is passed during pregnancy through the cervix. It is the part of the uterine wall that comes before the amniotic sac at the end of the third trimester. Transplacental is also used in medical terms to refer to the part of the uterus that is outside the active contractions of the cervix and is therefore not moving, but rather resting on its side.
