👉 In mathematics, "connectedness" refers to the property of a set or space that allows it to be divided into two disjoint subsets. This means that any line segment within the set is entirely contained in one of its two parts. For example, consider the set of all points (x,y) such that x^2 + y^2 <= 1. We can see that this set is connected because any line segment connecting two points from the set will be completely contained within the set itself.
