👉 "Skipaos" is a term in Greek mythology, referring to the character of Skopos, who was said to have been the first of all the skippers (or skippers-in-waiting) on the island of Crete. Skopos was believed to be a mortal being and thus had to take on the form of a fish to become a skippers-in-waiting.
