👉 Pyrgoptila is a genus of flowering plants in the family Ericaceae, native to South America. They are known for their brightly colored flowers that can reach up to 20 cm long and are often found growing in temperate forests and wetlands. The genus includes around 175 species, which are classified into two subgenera: Pyrgoptilaceae and Pyrgophyllumaceae.
