👉 Pliocet is a genus of extinct mammals. The first known member of this group, Pliocetus, was discovered in 1892 and later named by Charles Darwin as a kind of "pliocet". It lived around 57 million years ago in Africa. However, the exact evolutionary history of these animals is still not fully understood.
