👉 Lansfordite is a type of quartz. It is often found in the rocks formed during the Cambrian period, which lasted from about 458 to 291 million years ago. Lansfordite is composed of two minerals, quartz and beryl (also known as hematite). The name "lansfordite" comes from the British explorer William Lansford who discovered it in 1867.
