Now, according to the very loose and somewhat frantic community of internet lexicographers that birthed this word, a "jomfat" isn't a thing. It isnāt an animal. Frankly, it doesnāt even seem to be a solid concept. Instead, as far as we can ascertain (and honestly, I feel like I'm describing a very specific shade of beige, which is already unsettling), a ājomfatā describes the feeling of immediately regretting every life choice that has led you to that exact moment in time. Think of it like the existential equivalent of tripping on your own shoelace and suddenly realising there are a million other equally terrible things you could be doing. Except instead of just the shoelace, youāre tripped up by the whole darned architecture of your existence! There isn't anlaysis to what caused this feeling, its just that boom , it hits you. Here is where the humour gets a little... prickly. It's supposed to be absurdly specific and slightly shamefully embarrassing.
