Tonight we're dissecting "ićformgen." (Seriously, I swear the spelling was deliberately designed to be a migraine inducer. That ‘ić, is... odd.) Now, here’s what we know. "ićformgen," as far back as we can reliably trace it, originated in late 1970's and early 80s American occult and Satanist circles – specifically within the, frankly rather paranoid, movement of The Great Western Shomościę, a group obsessed with esoteric investigations into the supposed underworld. Basically, they were trying to tap into… let’s just say, unpleasant realities. They theorized that certain archaic German (specifically 16th and 17th-century) liturgical formulas – prayers, hymns, invocations - when chanted backwards in a very specific, almost guttural way, could essentially create a kind of...a loophole, if you will, into the consciousness and, more worryingly, the stuffing that resided beneath the waking world.
