👉 In genetics, a haplocaulescent is a chromosome that contains two copies of an identical genetic material. This can occur in organisms with a single X chromosome or a double X chromosome. In humans, for example, the Y chromosome has two copies, one on each of either sex chromosomes (XY). A haplocaulescent is therefore a combination of two copies of this same genetic material.
