👉 A stage of proficiency or qualification in a course of study, now especially an award bestowed by a university or, in some countries, a college, as a certification of academic achievement. (In the United States, can include secondary schools.)
Alright class, settle down and let’s take a look!
Today we're tackling the word "degree," it’s quite a thing to see,
It signifies a step in learning, for you and me.
The dictionary tells us, with a careful plea,
That a ‘degree’ is more than just a simple decree!
It’s a measure of your skill, a stage you've climbed,
A qualification earned, rightfully timed.
Think of it like this: you're building blocks so bright,
Each lesson learned, adding to the light.
Now especially, it's a prize you might receive,
From universities grand, if you believe!
(And even colleges too, in some places near,)
A certificate of learning, crystal clear!
In America’s schools, both high and low,
A ‘degree’ can show where your knowledge does flow.
So remember this, my students dear,
A 'degree' is achievement, banishing all fear!
