👉 Comptometer is a device used for measuring the speed of light in vacuum. It consists of two mirrors, one fixed and one moving at constant speed relative to the moving mirror. The motion of the moving mirror causes the reflected light from the moving mirror to be slowed down by the fixed mirror. This effect is called "compton retardation".
