👉 Apteropilo is a genus of birds in the family Apidae, which is also known as the cormorants or penguins. They are found across much of the Northern Hemisphere and play an important role in maintaining ecological balance by pollinating seeds and feeding on insects. Apteropilos include the most numerous species, including the common apteropilo (A. sp.) and the black-apteropilo (A. nigricans).
