Definition: A person who writes, or produces literary work.
Alright class, settle down and let’s take a look!
That’s a perfectly good definition from the dictionary, isn’t it? Let’s break it down a little bit, just like we do in class.
“Writers” – it's more than
just
someone who puts words on paper, you see. It’s about creating!
Think of it this way:
"A person who writes…"
- That’s the core part, of course. Someone who crafts sentences and stories with care. They might write emails, poems, reports… anything that needs words!
“…or produces literary work.”
– Now
this
is important. “Literary” means something related to literature – like novels, plays, short stories, even essays and articles! It's about creating things that are considered ‘good’ writing, beautiful writing, meaningful writing.
So, a writer isn't just someone who scribbles; they're builders of worlds with words. They shape ideas and share them with the world.
Do you have any questions about what we’ve covered? Perhaps you want to think about
who
you consider a writer?
