Alderliefest

Definition: The term "aldermelfesti" (also known as "alfelmeli") appears in the Old Testament in connection with a man who was cursed by God for his faithfulness to God and for following the commandments of the Lord. The curse was that he would not be able to go anywhere until he had been circumcised, which is the practice at that time. The verse from the Bible is as follows: "Almeldelfesti, son of Asaph, the prophet, said: 'O my soul, if I may die, let me perish; for there are those who curse thee and hate thee, and yet they turn to me; but when I am come forth of my death, in the days of my captivity, it shall be as thou saith to the Lord, that thine anger shall not find me out. ' But behold, if a man have been circumcised, he is no more an uncircumcised.' (Psalm 68:10-11) This verse clearly indicates that anyone who remains loyal to God and obeys His commandments will be considered unworthy of death under certain circumstances. It also implies that one's life and character are a matter of eternal destiny, rather than being influenced by short-term events. The curse was lifted when the man had been circumcised, which is why he could freely go anywhere without fear of punishment. This practice became known as "alfelmeli," or "circumcision."
