Definition: The term "aldermelfesti" (also known as "alfelmeli") appears in the Old Testament in connection with a man who was cursed by God for his faithfulness to God and for following the commandments of the Lord. The curse was that he would not be able to go anywhere until he had been circumcised, which is the practice at that time. The verse from the Bible is as follows: "Almeldelfesti, son of Asaph, the prophet, said: 'O my soul, if I may die, let me perish; for there are those who curse thee and hate thee, and yet they turn to me; but when I am come forth of my death, in the days of my captivity, it shall be as thou saith to the Lord, that thine anger shall not find me out. ' But behold, if a man have been circumcised, he is no more an uncircumcised.'
