Definition: Blair was a Scottish nobleman, politician and military officer who served as Lord Lieutenant of Scotland from 1868 to 1902. He was also a Member of Parliament for Stirlingshire and East Dunbartonshire from 1874 until his death in 1902. The word "Blair" is an Old Irish name, meaning "bald". It is also sometimes spelled as 'Bally' or 'Blaise'. In Scotland, the term "Blair" was often used to refer to the Scottish minister of justice.
