Othochroma
Definition and Explanation: The term "Orthochromatic" was once a very popular term used to describe something that was neither black nor white but had some form of coloration. It meant anything was possible, from a single point where light enters the material to a point where light is scattered in a unique way. Example Sentence: Imagine a piece of wood with a distinct pattern on it – a small, irregular dot or circle that seems like it's grown on its own. This dot-like pattern can be either black (as if you were looking at an optical illusion), white or even shades of orange or yellow. It doesn’t matter how the color is formed, it looks as though it’s been intentionally created. Edgy/Unsettling Example Sentence: "The orthochromatic wood was just that – a piece of wood with a mysterious pattern on it that could only be described as 'oceanic.' The dot-like pattern seemed to have been deliberately created or some kind of artwork, and its uniqueness made it stand out from the rest."
