What is a Doxology?
A doxology is a short hymn or expression of praise to God, often used in Christian worship. The word comes from the Greek doxa (glory) and logos (word), meaning "a word of glory."
The Common Doxology
One of the most well-known doxologies is the “Old 100th,” often sung in Protestant churches:
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
Purpose and Use
Doxologies are used to glorify God, to close prayers or hymns, and to remind believers of the divine majesty and grace. They are typically short and poetic, and serve as a moment of reverent reflection.

- Romans 11:36: "For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen."
